Award of the H.W. Arndt Prize

H.W. Arndt prize for 2004

The Indonesia Project is delighted to announce the award of the H.W. Arndt Prize for the best article by one or more Indonesian authors published in the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies in 2004. The award was approved by the Editorial Board at its meeting in late 2004.

The purpose of the H.W. Arndt Prize is to encourage young Indonesian economists working in academia, government, business and elsewhere to publish research on their own economy. The experience of preparing research papers for publication in an international journal, having them subjected to the refereeing process, and then having them exposed to the scrutiny of the international academic economics community, is one of the most important means by which individual economists can build up their capabilities, and by which the advancement of the economics profession is achieved.
