Dr. Anies Baswedan launched the book

The book from the 26th Indonesia Update conference in 2009, Problems of Democratisation in Indonesia: Elections, Institutions, and Society edited by Edward Aspinall and Marcus Mietzner, was launched in Jakarta in conjunction with a Mini Update Conference in collaboration with CSIS on 19 May 2010. Dr. Anies Baswedan, the president of Paramadina University, launched the book and judged it to be one of the more important political books on Indonesian democracy.

Marcus Mietzner and Djisman Simadjuntak gave an update of Indonesian politics and economics. Adam Schmidt, Hana Satriyo and Stephen Sherlock discussed three chapters in the book. Approximately 80 people attended the launch and mini update. Among the audience were Dr. Juwono Sudarsono, Dr. Mely G Tan and Aristides Katoppo.
