Woojin is a Research Fellow at the Arndt-Corden Department of Economics and is currently working on the IDRC (Canada) and NCAER (India) funded project on Rural Governance and Inclusive Growth (led by Prof. Raghbendra Jha). He recently completed PhD research at the University of Manchester, UK, entitled ‘A Microeconometric Analysis of the Welfare of Households in Vietnam and China: Poverty, Vulnerability and Inequality’.
Research interests
Applied Econometrics, Poverty Dynamics and Vulnerability, Growth and Inequality, Malnutrition, Policy and Programme Evaluation.
His research findings have been disseminated at several international conferences such as the UN's World Civic Forum in 2009 where he was also invited to act as a discussant at the UN Department of Economics and Social Affairs (UNDESA)'s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) workshop. In the past, he undertook the research projects for the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) (led by Prof. Raghav Gaiha, University of Delhi) and the project for the Brooks World Poverty Institute (BWPI) (led by Dr. Katsushi Imai, University of Manchester).
