Alumni Dialogue in Port Moresby
An unforgettable evening unfolded on 21 August 2024 in Port Moresby as we celebrated the achievements of our alumni in Papua New Guinea. The event was filled with engaging conversations, hearty laughter, and new connections, all set against the backdrop of our shared educational journey. It was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of our programs on the professional lives of our graduates.
We were honoured to have Dr Joanne Loundes, Australian Deputy High Commissioner, and Mr Andrew F. Oaeke, Secretary of the Treasury of PNG, as keynote speakers. Dr Loundes highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between PNG and Australia, underscoring the crucial role of institutions like ANU and UPNG in shaping public policy and future leaders. She praised the collaborative efforts that have bolstered education and research through initiatives like the PNG Update.
Mr Oaeke reflected on the invaluable skills he acquired at the Crawford School, emphasizing how they have been instrumental in his career. He spoke passionately about the importance of strong institutions for economic development and the need to invest in human capital and infrastructure.
As we reflect on these meaningful interactions, we are already excited for future opportunities to reunite with our alumni and further strengthen our ties with PNG!
