The Economic Record is inviting submissions for a special issue on “Macroeconomic Policy and Australia”.

The special issue welcomes theoretical, empirical and quantitative research across a broad range of macroeconomic topics, including monetary and fiscal policy, inflation, financial stability, international macroeconomics, productivity and growth, labour markets, and the climate and energy transition.

Importantly, papers do not need to focus directly on Australia. Research on other economies is also welcome, provided it speaks to policy questions relevant to Australia. These include inflation and interest rates, government budgets and public debt, housing and household debt, commodity-price and terms-of-trade shocks, exchange rates, labour markets, productivity, and the climate and energy transition, among others.

Submission deadline  31 December 2026
