Conference in Honour of Andy Stoeckel will commemorate Andy's contributions to the economics community and to discuss current economic and geopolitical issues.
Professor Andy Stoeckel was a long-standing and much-valued member of the CAMA community. Following his passing on 22 December 2025, CAMA is pleased to host this special one-day conference to celebrate Andy’s life, scholarship and lasting contribution to economics and public policy. Andy devoted much of his career to understanding the forces shaping the global economy. In his books, research and public commentary, he explored the opportunities and challenges arising from globalisation, international trade, economic integration and geopolitical change.
Conference in Honour of Andy Stoeckel - The Changing Global Economy will bring together leading scholars and experts to discuss the economic and geopolitical forces reshaping the world today. The conference will explore recent developments in the global economy and the challenges facing the international economic order — themes that were central to Andy’s work and intellectual curiosity.
The event will feature a public panel on the Role of Research in Policy, which will be livestreamed by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). The panel will include Renée Fry-McKibbin (RBA Monetary Policy Board Member and ANU), Hilde C. Bjørnland (Norges Bank and BI Norwegian Business School), and Prasanna Gai (RBNZ and University of Auckland).
Join us for a day of insightful presentations, lively discussion and reflection as we honour Andy’s remarkable contribution to the economics community.
