The Crawford School of Public Policy's Department of Policy and Governance at the Australian National University is delighted to invite you to join our annual Signature Event on some of the most challenging issues facing the world. The Hon Dr Andrew Charlton MP, Assistant Minister for Science, Technology and the Digital Economy and Cabinet Secretary, will deliver this in-person public address, highlighting the possibilities and opportunities presented by AI for Australia.
Dr Andrew Charlton MP is the Federal Member for Parramatta. He is an economist, business owner and former senior economic advisor. Prior to entering Parliament, Andrew completed a PhD in economics from Oxford University and went on to work at the London School of Economics. He worked as an advisor to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd during the global financial crisis. Andrew was appointed Australia’s senior official to the G20 Leaders Summits. He founded analytics business, AlphaBeta, which was sold to Accenture in 2020 where he was a managing director until entering parliament.
