Please join us for 'From Innovation to Impact in the Changing Realities of Agri-food Value Chains Worldwide' presented by Philip Pardey.
Agri-food value chains around the world continue to change at an historically unprecedented pace. These changes have significant research, development and innovation (RDI) implications, not only regarding primary production (i.e., farmers, farms, and farming) but also the for pre- and post-farm components of these value chains. Phil Pardey will draw on a forthcoming piece developed for the FAO’s Agrifood Systems Technologies and Innovations Outlook (ATIO) undertaking to describe the nature of these changing agri-food transformation realities through an RDI lens. In so doing he will present new evidence on the profound changes in public and private spending on agri-food R&D worldwide, and the nature of the innovation and adoption lags that are consequential for realizing the economic (and other) impacts these RDI investments make possible.
