This seminar discusses the third paper in a series of TTPI policy reports that aims to develop a framework for understanding different aspects of taxation to inform and improve future policy design. This report examines the design of consumption taxation in Australia and provides recommendations for reform.
Event Speakers
Dr Peter Varela is a Research Fellow at the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute with a focus on the economics of migration and tax policy design. Prior to joining the TTPI, Peter worked at the Australian Treasury, the Australian Productivity Commission and the Centre for International Economics.
