Nobel laureate Professor James A. Robinson will deliver a talk on Africa’s political and economic trajectory.
As part of the Public Policy Frontiers series, Nobel laureate Professor James A. Robinson will deliver a talk on Africa’s political and economic trajectory, examining the historical roots of its institutional and developmental crises while exploring alternative futures for the continent.
Professor Robinson will speak about his forthcoming book on Africa, to be published by Random House. The book develops a broad theory of Africa’s political and economic trajectory, examining how the continent became trapped in institutional and developmental crises during the early modern and modern periods, while also exploring how Africa’s future could unfold very differently. The talk will combine historical analysis with a forward-looking discussion on institutions, governance, development, and the possibilities for long-term transformation across the continent.
