The China Economy Program was pleased to host students from the Economics class at UC Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra. The visit provided an opportunity for students to engage with university-level research and gain insights into current economic issues, as part of their broader exploration of economic policy and global economic trends.

On 16 May 2025, the China Economy Program had the pleasure of welcoming students from the Economics class at UC Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra. The visit was hosted by Professor Ligang Song and Associate Professor Yixiao Zhou, who engaged the students in a day of academic enrichment and exposure to real-world economic discussions.

As part of the visit, the students attended a university-level economics seminar delivered by Professor Xiaodong Zhu on bottom-up institutional change and economic growth in China. This experience offered students a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how economic research is presented and discussed in a tertiary academic setting.

During the lunch break, Professor Ligang Song delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking speech tailored for the visiting students. His talk centred on the ten most important principles of economics, while also exploring the implications of artificial intelligence and automation in economic production. He encouraged students to reflect on the evolving role of economics in society and the importance of learning and adaptability in a rapidly changing world.

The China Economy Program was delighted to support this outreach initiative, aimed at fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of economics among the next generation of learners.
