The evolving nature of terrorism has been the focus of increased research and debate in recent years. With the current terrorist threat carrying a truly global dimension, and with two out of every three countries in the world suffering the impact of terrorist activity, it has never been more critical to explore the drivers.
Join Paul Foley PSM, Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism, Steve Killelea AM, founder of the Institute for Economics and Peace, Jacinta Carroll, Director, National Security Policy, National Security College, and Anna Sherburn, Assistant Coordinator of the Countering Violent Extremism Centre in the Attorney-General’s Department as they highlight the emerging trends and patterns of terrorism, and explore strategies to counter it. During the event, the 2017 Global Terrorism Index will be launched. The Index is the world’s leading measure of the direct and indirect impact of terrorism in 163 countries, assessing the lives lost, injuries, property damage and the physiological after-effects of terrorism.
