The 14th Australasian Development Economics Workshop (ADEW) will be held on 6–7 June 2018 at the Australian National University.

Sponsored by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), ADEW is an annual workshop that brings together development economists from around Australia and internationally. The event provides a forum for rigorous research in the field of development economics, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.

Call for papers
The Call for Papers for the 2018 ADEW is now open. To submit your paper, please follow this link.

All high-quality papers within the field of development economics are welcome. Submissions are welcome from academics, practitioners, and postgraduate students. Submission of a full draft paper is required.

For postgraduate students: we encourage you to also upload a letter of support from your supervisor.

There will be no registration fee for ADEW 2018. We will be able to cover travel within Australia and accommodation costs for a limited number of postgraduate students to present at ADEW 2018. All authors will be advised if their paper has been accepted by 9 April 2018.

Accommodation
Accommodation is to be booked directly by individual participants. Information about accommodation options will be provided in early 2018.

Arriving in Canberra

Canberra Airport is served by most of Australia’s major cities, as well as several international connections. By road, Canberra is located approximately 3.5 hours from Sydney. There is a frequent coach service from Sydney to Canberra.
