Once again we will explore the complexities of coronavirus outbreak at the sub-national level. This time we invite Dr Arief Yusuf, an economics professor at Universitas Padjajaran and a senior researcher at the Center for Sustainable Development Goals Studies; and Dr Amalinda Savirani, the head of the Department of Politics and Government, Universitas Gajah Mada. Arief Yusuf will present his estimation of the impacts of COVID-19 in terms of socio-economic and regional aspects, and Linda Savirani will explore the roles of citizens, both individually and collectively, in dealing with the pandemic. She will highlight the apparent tension between the expression of solidarity within communities and an exclusive attitude against those suspected for potentially spreading the virus.
