Please join us for an upcoming RE&D Research Notes webinar, hosted by the Resources, Environment and Development group (RE&D), Crawford School of Public Policy.
RE&D Scholar Associate Professor Ida Kubiszewski will present her research insights on measuring wellbeing. The seminar will be facilitated by Maeve Powell.
Wellbeing measures are becoming more popular around the world. Many of these measures are composite indicators at a national scale. They often include some forms of built, natural, social, and human capital. Dr Kubiszewski will explore the questions: which components and which scales are appropriate for measuring wellbeing? Is everyone’s wellbeing dependent on the same components and are certain people more resilience than others to changing life events? What can the response to the COVID crisis teach us about wellbeing and resilience?
Ida Kubiszewski is an Associate Professor at Crawford School of Public Policy at The Australian National University. She was a climate change negotiator for a few years, representing the country of the Dominican Republic, following adaptation and loss & damage. She is also the author or co-author of over 50 scientific papers and has co-authored or co-edited six books.
