The Australia Pacific Security College (PSC) will host a panel event and webinar with Australia’s Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Hon. Zed Seselja and Dame Annette King, New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Australia. It is an opportunity to hear senior officials answer questions around how they are helping Pacific nations build resilience as they face multiple challenges. COVID-19 continues to spread in Fiji and PNG, while the economic fallout is affecting all Pacific nations with closed borders. Climate change and geopolitical tensions continue to impact our region, affecting fisheries, food security and livelihoods.

How are Australia and New Zealand adapting their policies to reflect the new regional challenges? Are our responses today enhancing long-term sustainability, and the capacity to deal with overlapping crises from climate to health security challenges? PSC Director Professor Meg Keen will anchor a lively discussion with Senator Zed Seselja and Dame Annette King from the PSC’s media studio at ANU, which will be live-streamed at 1pm via Eventbrite. Video questions from around the region will be answered by the panel.
