This seminar will provide an overview of Timor-Leste’s economy and potential future scenarios. Key themes will include resource dependence, future revenue possibilities, and economic diversification. The seminar will then delve into economic diversification opportunities, sharing the results of recent applied research projects that were designed to guide government priorities. A factor productivity exploration of trends in agricultural production and incomes will be presented. The seminar will also explore Timor-Leste’s youth bulge and the issue of who gets the rather rare formal sector jobs in the country.
