This two-week course, conducted from the 22nd March to 3rd of April, is participated in by a delegation of senior officers from India?s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB). MIB is responsible for the formulation and dissemination of information on Indian government policies and programmes through print, audio and visual media. Participants will be exposed to various models of contemporary media management, developmental communications and media management, and trend in public broadcasting, media policy and regulation. The Program, convened by Dr Norman Abjorensen, will include visits to and briefings from the Australia Communications and Media Authority, National Film and Sound Archive, ABC, SBS and local media professionals in Sydney and Canberra. MIB undertakes similar training annually with the Thomson Foundation in Cardiff, UK.
