Topic: The Prospects for APEC and the Australia-Japan Relationship”. Professor Iwata is head of ESRI, in the Japanese Cabinet Office. The Lecture Series honours Sir John Crawford and former Japanese Ambassador Haruhiko Nishi who together helped forge a new post-war Australia-Japan relationship based initially on mutual trade interests.
