Beyond the Spin: ANU / ABC Federal Election Discussion Series
With Rudd gone, is the path now clear for the Gillard Government to win a mandate or will Abbott pull off a political upset? What role will the Greens and Independents play in shaping the issues that will influence your vote? Many of the big issues are back on the agenda: asylum seekers, action or inaction on climate change, the economy, debt and taxes ’ great big new ones or otherwise ’ and the quality of our political leaders.
ANU academics and media commentators will take your questions as they dissect the slogans and lay bare the real issues facing the nation, ahead of the 2010 Federal election.
Forum four: Leaders, parties and politics
With Professor John Wanna, Mr Geoffrey Barker, Mr Andrew Hughes and Professor Marian Sawer.
Hosted by 666 ABC Canberra’s Afternoons presenter, Genevieve Jacobs
This public event is the forth in a series of four forums looking at the big policy issues ahead of the 2010 Federal election. All events are free and open to the public.
Please register your attendance with Penny Cox.
