ANU Public Policy 2014 brings together world-leading experts to address significant issues in public policy. It comprises of two events; Policy Outlook 2014 and a special Asia and the Pacific Policy Society conference on the Pacific’s health challenges.

Dr Ken Henry AC and Professor Hugh White AO will be among the high profile speakers at ANU Public Policy Week 2014 at Crawford School on 15-18 September.
Dr Henry, the Chair of the ANU Public Policy Fellows program and former Secretary of Treasury, will use a public lecture at Crawford on Tuesday 16 September to talk about ‘public policy resilience and the reform narrative’.
Professor White will address ‘Defence policy: what’s wrong and how to fix it’ at a public lecture on Monday 15 September. The event will also see the launch of the Spring edition of Crawford’s public policy quarterly magazine, Advance.
ANU Public Policy Week 2014 will comprise of two distinct events – Policy Outlook 2014 and a special Asia and the Pacific Policy Society conference on the Pacific’s health challenges.
Policy Outlook 2014 will consist of four high profile public events; the talks from Dr Henry and Professor White, plus panel discussions on ‘A resilient tax system for the future’ led by Professor Miranda Stewart, Director of the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute and ‘The future of the tertiary education sector’ led by Crawford School’s Professor Bruce Chapman. There will also be a series of invite-only workshops for senior public servants.
The Asia and the Pacific Policy Society conference – Confronting the Pacific’s health challenges – will bring in high profile speakers including Professor Tikki Pangestu of the National University of Singapore, Marc Overmars of UNICEF, Professor Peter Annear of the Nossal Institute and Dr Susan Ivatts of the World Bank.
