Ms Amalina Yasmin Mohd Sokri
Amalina Yasmin is a PhD candidate studying judicial politics at the Crawford School of Public Policy and the recipient of the Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Scholarship.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) and a Master's degree in ASEAN Studies from the University of Malaya.
Before commencing her PhD journey, Amalina dedicated almost 8 years to the practice of law in Malaysia. She recently won the AsianJLS-ALSA Graduate Student Paper Competition 2025 for her paper entitled "Rethinking Judicial Legitimacy: A Process-Based Perspective From Malaysian Corruption Trials”.
Research Interest
Amalina's research interests primarily focus on the fields of socio-legal research, particularly judicial politics, judicial communication, comparative constitutionalism, institution-building, and the rule of law in Southeast Asia.
