Emeritus Prof Jeff Bennett

Jeff Bennett is Emeritus Professor in the Arndt Corden Department of Economics in the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. He has over 50 years’ experience as a teacher, researcher and consultant in the fields of Environmental Economics, Resource Economics and Agricultural Economics. He is a distinguished fellow and former president of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society, a former fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and a former director of the Mont Pelerin Society.

Prof Bennett is a member of the Social Science and Economics Advisory Board of Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) and has been a member of the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Advisory Panel (BCAP), a Director of Wetland Care Australia and served on the academic advisory boards of the Centre for Independent Studies and the Menzies Research Centre. Jeff continues to be an active reviewer of papers submitted to a wide range of international journals. He has been an advisor to numerous public and private sector organisations through his work as a consultant and currently manages his family’s wool growing property at Gundaroo.
