Novia is a PhD student at Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. Her research will focus on the nexus of climate change and trade policy.

Prior to her PhD study, Novia is a researcher at the Department of Economics at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Indonesia, in which she helped to establish the new Climate Policy Research Unit. She is also active as co-founder of Podcast ASAP Indonesia that focus on disaster issues in Indonesia. Prior to working as researcher at CSIS, she was research assistant to Prof. Mari Elka Pangestu.

Novia obtained her Bachelor of Economics from University of Indonesia and Master of Climate Change Science and Policy from Victoria University of Wellington with full scholarship from New Zealand's government.
