Macnos, from Zimbabwe, is doing his PhD on the impact of remittances from Pacific islanders participating in Australia’s Seasonal Worker Program (SWP) and New Zealand’s Recognised Seasonal Employer scheme (RSE).
His interest in doing research on this important topic stems from having worked on labour mobility issues in the Pacific while based in Vanuatu as part of the Office of the Chief Trade Adviser (OCTA) during negotiations on PACER Plus, the Pacific’s first development-focussed trade agreement.
He attained his B.A and M.A from Arkansas State University and has worked for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research in Geneva, Switzerland and New York City.
