Topic title

Fishery management in Vietnam

Topic description

My thesis includes three main parts. Part 1 evaluates the effectiveness of policy interventions on the fishery industry in Vietnam. In Part 2, a model is constructed to estimate the demand elasticity for fish product and its substitute, meat. The last session is to evaluate the potential shocks of the fishery industry on household welfare in the whole economy.

Work experience

Research assistant/Consultancy

  • Undertake data manipulation and perform quantitative analysis with the research team of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grant “Working longer, working wisely”, using HILDA, a nationally representative household-based longitudinal survey, since Jul 2017
  • Provide R training and support the delivery of high-quality data analysis to the Individual Deprivation Measure (IDM) team, since May 2017
  • Undertake population projections for the countries in Pacific Islands area and make immigration projection for future Australia, Aug - Nov 2016
  • Develop and maintain Vietnam Policy and Economy Group (VPEG) website, Since Dec 2016
