Carolyn joined the National Security College in August 2021 on secondment from the Department of Finance. She is jointly responsible for designing innovative, high quality executive and professional development courses and course materials to meet the needs of the national security community.
Carolyn joined the NSC after working in the Budget and Financial Reporting Group (Government and Defence Division) within Finance where she advised on the affordability, achievability and risk of Department of Defence infrastructure and capability submissions. Prior to this, she evaluated the effectiveness and efficiency of Defence major capital procurements at the Australian National Audit Office.
She has previously held various senior corporate roles (research, audit and OH&S) at the NSW Rural Fire Service (Sydney) and at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Carolyn recently completed the Executive Level 2 National Security Development Program: Leadership and Resilience in a Contested Future, and holds a PhD in Pathology as well as a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Education from UNSW.
