Research Fellow
Soimart has a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Sydney, and subsequent experience for several years as an academic at Thammasat University in Bangkok with a research background in critical agrarian studies in Thailand and Laos. Her research investigates themes such as intergenerational migration and its impact on rural development, as well as the transformation of smallholder agriculture and land conflicts arising from boom crops. She will be leading the Thai research in our ARC project and supporting with comparative and global analysis of the broiler chicken industry and its socio-environmental impacts.
