Dr Thi Ha Lien Le

PhD in Agricultural Economics (University of New England); Master of Arts (Williams College)

Lien Le is a Research Fellow at the Water Justice Hub, Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University (ANU). Prior to this role, she served as Vice Director of the Centre for Agricultural Policy at the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD) in Vietnam. She also worked as a national coordinator and consultant for development projects in agriculture and rural development sector in Vietnam and in the Lower Mekong Basin, with a particular focus on agricultural economics.

Research Interest

Her research focuses on applied, interdisciplinary approaches to support decision-making in agriculture, water, and climate policy, with an emphasis on sustainable and inclusive development, and the welfare and livelihoods of vulnerable communities. Her PhD explored agrarian transformations in the Lower Mekong Basin. Currently, she is contributing to the Australian Drinking Water Record project at the Water Justice Hub, which aims to address knowledge gaps in drinking water quality and support improved health outcomes in remote Indigenous communities in Australia.
