Tunye Qiu

Tunye Qiu is currently a PhD candidate in Economics at the Crawford School of Public Policy, ANU College of Asia & the Pacific (Crawford). His research focuses on China’s housing market, specifically examining the causal impacts of government policies on economic factors such as fertility rates, local government land supply behavior, and housing demand. My broader research interests encompass applied economics, the Chinese economy, causal inference, and urban economics. Additionally, he also explored topics in international trade, labor markets in South Pacific countries, and educational outcomes in Australia.

He has extensive teaching experience. Since 2021, he has taught a wide range of economics courses at both the Research School of Economics and Crawford, covering topics from Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Game Theory and Policy Impact Evaluation.
