Meimanat is a Research Fellow under an ARC research project led by the Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) based at ANU node, mentored by CI, Prof. Peter McDonald. She is an ANU graduate with extensive research experience in the field of demography and public health, whose work focuses on population policy in Australia and Asian countries. She is currently involved in developing a database underpinning ageing research and projections in Australia. Her current research focuses on study of disability and needs for assistance among older people and their living arrangements. Meimanat is also former senior staff member of the Iran Ministry of Health, and she has followed her research interests in the study of fertility transition and its policy implications in Iran. She and her colleagues Prof. McDonald and Dr Abbasi-Shavazi have had major contribution to the recent population policy revisions by the Iranian government.
