Selection is highly competitive. Candidates are required to submit an application form along with their resume, a short piece of policy-focused writing, their academic transcripts, and details for two academic referees.

Congressional Research Fellowship Program (CRFP) applications will be considered by ANU. If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview either in person at Crawford School of Public Policy or via skype.

Selection criteria

CRFP Fellows serve as ambassadors for Australia, Canberra and ANU while in the United States. Selection will be based upon the following criteria:

  • Academic history and performance;
  • Personal motivation;
  • Involvement in university and community activities;
  • Relevance and importance of proposed research topic; and
  • Background in international relations.
