This public policy specialisation is for you if you are current or future policy practitioners with the ambition to make positive impact in the fields of regulation and effective governance in governments, civil society or industry.
Studying at Crawford School will provide you the opportunity to immerse in the knowledge, current debates and thinking in regulation. Supported by our world-class research, teaching and student care, you will explore the theoretical and empirical knowledge from multiple perspectives, receive skills training in analysing, synthesising, and communicating complex regulatory issues, and will build up a wide reaching network for your future career development.
When you complete the study, you will be able to reflect critically on contemporary regulatory landscapes and to identify and apply appropriate research methods to national, international and transnational regulatory challenges. You will be able to confidently develop innovative policy recommendations and effectively communicate regulatory responses to external audiences.
Compulsory courses will provide you with a solid foundation in the concepts, processes, institutions and practices of regulation and governance, while the elective courses allow you to apply those ideas to a range of domains, including disruptive technology, global business regulation, restorative justice, and climate and health policy. Study in-person or online In 2023, all graduate courses offered by the Crawford School will be available for either in-person or online study. All students are expected to attend live sessions at particular times each week for their courses. Crawford online courses are not ‘study at your own pace’. International students studying on an Australian student visa should enrol in in-person courses.
