About the Department of Policy and Governance
The Department of Policy and Governance (POGO) focuses on key challenges governments and societies confront in managing a complex world. The department is an important part of the Crawford School of Public Policy.
POGO faculty are passionate researchers, and they possess expertise in a diverse range of public policy topics. Particular interests include comparative politics, development, energy, environmental challenges, gender, indigenous peoples, international politics, political participation, public management, social policy, and trade. POGO’s regional expertise is diverse as well, covering not only Australia but also a wide range of countries throughout Asia and the Pacific.
POGO oversees two Master degree programs: the Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Administration. POGO also works with the Australia and New Zealand School of Government to deliver the Executive Master of Public Administration. Graduate Certificates are available as well.
POGO is also home to a vibrant HDR community and our faculty are open to working with PhD and MPhil scholars in our areas of interest.
