On 9 July 2012, the China Economy Program within the Crawford School, in collaboration with the Rio Tinto-ANU China Partnership, will launch the China Update Book: Rebalancing and Sustaining Growth in China edited by Ligang Song and Huw McKay. The book is published by ANU E Press with the Chinese Social Sciences Academic Press publishing the Chinese language version.

This year’s book features contributions from the world’s leading academics, policy makers and government representatives who discuss the latest research on the Chinese economy. Over the years, the China Update Book has become Australia’s premier publication for in-depth discussion and analysis of the Chinese economy.

The 2012 book will be launched by His Excellency Ambassador Chen Yuming, Chinese Ambassador to Australia and will feature keynote addresses by Professor Cai Fang, Director of the Institute of Population and Labour Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, who will discuss China’s ‘middle-income trap’, as well as Vivek Tulpule, Head of Economics at Rio Tinto, who will outline the nature and future of Rio Tinto’s relationship with China.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Registration essential, the events is to be capped at 200 participants.
