We are delighted to announce the 50th anniversary of ANU Indonesia Project.

ANU Indonesia Project was established in 1965 by HW Arndt in response to profound changes in the Indonesian economic and political landscapes. Initially established as a small group of Indonesia-focused economists, the ANU Indonesia Project has grown into an interdisciplinary research centre.

While research on economic change is still at the heart of ANU Indonesia Project today, the Project also brings together academics, students, policymakers and leaders from a range of disciplines and countries to discuss the multitude of issues in Indonesia’s growth and development.

Over the last 50 years, the ANU Indonesia Project has helped build greater understanding between Indonesia and Australia and fostered important relations between Indonesian and Australian students, scholars and policymakers.

ANU Indonesia Project 50th anniversary: a week of celebration is an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of ANU Indonesia Project and to acknowledge the invaluable support the Project has received from its many friends and benefactors over the years.

Professor the Hon Gareth Evans AC, QC will launch the Australia’s Indonesia Project: 50 years of engagement book written by Dr Colin Brown.

Registration is required.
