Chelsea Muir has worked at the ANU National Security College (NSC) since 2018. Originally on secondment from the Department of Agriculture and the Environment (formerly Agriculture and Water Resources), she developed a passion for working within the higher education sector, focusing specifically on national security issues.

Chelsea started at the NSC as a Program Coordinator within the Executive and Professional Development team, where she led the design and delivery of over 40 professional development programs. Her career highlights in this role include coordinating a month-long senior executive program that took place in Australia and Japan, and welcoming a cohort of international guests from throughout East Asia to engage with senior Australian official and experts.

Since 2022, she has shifted her focus from the professional development space to managing the NSC’s broad range of events, as the Senior Policy Outreach Officer. In this role, Chelsea works to deliver large-scale public events, as well as private high-level policy roundtables and dialogues.

Chelsea is passionate about gender and equity issues, working to have a positive impact as a member of the Crawford School’s Gender Diversity and Equity Committee. She is proud to carry this interest through to the NSC as the Producer of the Women in National Security podcast mini-series. This special series is part of the National Security Podcast, and Chelsea hopes it will inspire listeners and promote gender balance within the national security space.

Chelsea has completed a Bachelor of Writing with the University of Canberra.
