Arndt Lecture

The HW Arndt Lecture recognises and celebrates the contribution of Professor Heinz Arndt and his 50 years of service to this University as Professor and Emeritus Professor of Economics.

Professor Arndt made a major contribution to intellectual life in this country. At the ANU, among his many important contributions was the pioneering establishment of the Indonesia Project in 1965 and his work on the Indonesian economy, and Asian economies more generally, for which the ANU is internationally recognised. Professor Arndt was the Founding Editor of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies and Editor of Asian-Pacific Economic Literature. For many years, the late Professor Arndt was one of the most influential economists in Australia.

Past lectures are published in Asian-Pacific Economic Literature.
