First Crawford School Multicultural Night

14 June 2018

Crawford School is not just about essays and exams. It is also a place for friendships that will last for life and beyond borders.

Our students and academics mingled together for the first Crawford School Multicultural Night on 18th May 2018 to showcase and celebrate our rich cultural diversity. In Semester 1 2018, there were 575 domestic and 518 international students from 66 different countries.

The event was organised by the Crawford School Students’ Society (CSSS). It was an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between students and academics in an informal and relaxed environment.

Music, dance and poetry filled the night. Throughout the evening, students wore their beautiful traditional costumes and enjoyed delicious traditional delicacies brought by students.

The Multicultural Night was successful thanks to the students’ participation from the beginning. First, the decision to hold the event was made through consultation. By listening to students, CSSS realised they were keen to display their cultural heritage to each other. Then, students made individual contributions to the event. Besides CSSS, an outstanding team of volunteers organised traditional dishes, performances and decorations.
