Dr David Vanzetti is an agricultural economist with a varied career having worked with ABARE in Canberra, the United Nations in Rome and Geneva, and several Universities. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University in Canberra. His work has primarily focused on trade policy analysis. Several recent applications have focused on free trade agreements, non-tariff measures, pulses and food safety.

  • Brexit (funded by International Economics Ltd)
  • Pulses policy in Pakistan (funded by ACIAR)
  • Food safety in Vietnam
  • Vietnam’s free trade agreements

Research interests

Dr Vanzetti has 30 years experience researching, consulting and teaching in the fields of:

  • Agricultural economic policy
  • International trade policy
  • General equilibrium modelling
  • Commodity analysis

  • GTAP and partial equilibrium modelling
  • Trade and tariff databases (e.g. WITS, TASTE)
